In that corner of the Bedburg outdoor pool, where volleyball is usually played on the lawn, the cultural department of the castle town had set up a stage and a tent this weekend. The city had invited to the "Cultural Picnic in the Outdoor Pool" with a three-day series of comedian contributions with Ingrid Kühne, Volker Weininger and Martin Schopps.

In jener Ecke des Bedburger Freibades, wo sonst Volleyball auf dem Rasen gespielt wird, hatte die Kulturabteilung der Schlossstadt an diesem Wochenende eine Bühne und ein Zelt aufgebaut. Zum „Kulturpicknick im Freibad“ mit einer dreitägigen Reihe von Comedianbeiträgen mit Ingrid Kühne, Volker Weininger und Martin Schopps hatte die Stadt eingeladen.

Unabhängig von Religion, Weltanschauung und Parteipolitik – „hab8cht“

Eigentlich hatte ich ja beschlossen, in Nahbesprechung nicht über Politik zu räsonieren. Andererseits finde ich die Attribute, die sich dieser Verein aus der Kolpingstadt Kerpen als Motto auf die Fahne oder vielmehr in den Flyer geschrieben hat, auch für die eigene Berichterstattung ganz erstrebenswert: unabhängig von Religion, Weltanschauung und Parteipolitik. Da, konnte ich einfach nicht widerstehen, doch noch im Vorfeld der Kommunalwahl diesen Text zum Besuch von Jörg Eichenauer in Horrem zu veröffentlichen, auch wenn mir das soldatisch-appellative in der Namensgebung eures Demokratievereinigung überhaupt nicht gefällt. Möchte man zurufen: „Rührt euch.“

Culture "for all" and free of charge

The words "culture connects" were painted by young people of the Elsdorfer Stadtjugendring on the container with tent and seating material of the village associations. Konzert auf der Wiese vor St. Lucia

Kultur „für alle“ und zwar kostenlos

Die Worte „Kultur verbindet“ haben junge Leute des Elsdorfer Stadtjugendrings auf den Container mit Zelt- und Bestuhlungsmaterial der Dorfvereine gemalt. Davor schmettert am Freitag Rudi Rüttgers, von der Band Acoustic4u, nur mit Gitarre in gehörigem Abstand zu seinen Zuhörern Hannes Waders Lied „Gut wieder hier zu sein“. „Mit meinen Wünschen, mit meinen Fragen fühle ich mich nicht allein“, heißt es da. Damit es anderen auch so geht, sind viele zum Konzert auf die Wiese vor der Pfarrkirche St. Lucia gekommen.
